“Female” refers to a type of threaded connection on a valve where the threads are on the inside of the valve’s port. This allows a male-threaded pipe or fitting (with external threads) to be screwed into the valve.
How Does It Work?
A female-threaded valve has internal threads that accept male-threaded pipes or components. When the male end is screwed into the female valve, a tight, sealed connection is formed—often using PTFE tape or thread sealant to prevent leaks.
